Payroll Audit for Employee Benefit Plans

Benefit Plan Administration of Wisconsin, Inc. (BPA) has a payroll audit division of their company known as the Combined Crafts Statewide Audit Program (CCSAP).

The CCSAP consists of four auditors with a combined total of over 65 years of experience.  The supervisor, Mike Koehler, has over 30 years of experience and has seen within that time frame passages of statutes which has initiated many changes that have effected funding requirements (e.i., ERISA, NBUE & ALUMNI Agreements).

The CCSAP currently covers the entire states of Wisconsin and Michigan for our clients, as well as the neighboring states of Illinois, Iowa and Michigan.  All contributing employers within the aforementioned jurisdictional area are audited every 2 to 3 years.  If requested, audits are performed more frequently, or less frequently, on selected employers.

The CCSAP conducts on average, over 1,200 combined audits per year.  We are able to produce that many audits by combining the audits for several crafts for the same employer on the same visit.  This combining of audits results in each client receiving the payroll audit service at a lesser cost.

Our audit service includes, conducting the audit, prepare and send billing statements (if discrepancies are uncovered), collect the outstanding amounts and prepare annual payroll audit reports for Trustee review.

If you would like more information regarding our payroll audit services or would like to receive a formal proposal, please feel free to contact Jim Hoppe at jimh@bpalja.com or 1-800-425-1272.
